The flow network describes the flow relations between the individual system elements. This requires the subcatchment division and the water body network, respectively the grid-based division and the grid of flow directions (from a DTM). Furthermore, the respective inflow and outflow elements must be identified for the entire water infrastructure depicted.

In the user interface the flow network is entered and displayed as flow network map, i.e. all system elements are created and connected according to the flow direction.
